Zdrilic ends Bhoys run

Aberdeen handed Celtic their first defeat of the season, and their first home reverse in 77 games, after David Zdrilic netted in the final minute to give The Dons a 2-1 victory at Parkhead.

Henrik Larsson opened the scoring for Martin O'Neill's men, however a goal from substitute Bryan Prunty after 56 minutes brought the visitors level before Zdrilic netted the winner.

A minute's silence was impeccably held prior to kick off in memory of Ronnie Simpson, Celtic's European Cup winning keeper in 1967, who died this week.

Zdrilic had the first effort of the game, however The Dons were soon on the back foot. Mohammed Sylla was inches from connecting with a lose ball after David Preece punched away from Larsson.

Celtic were ahead after 16 minutes when the Swedish striker latched onto Sylla's through-ball before outpacing the visitors' defence and slotting the ball past Preece.

Young striker Richard Forster almost struck back, however he was inches from connecting with Scott Muirhead's cross after he got the better of Didier Agathe.

Just eleven minutes after the restart the visitors we back on level terms when substitute Prunty arrived right on time to slot home at the back post from Muirhead's cross.

Despite bringing on the likes of Liam Miller in an attempt to regain the lead, a winner never arrived leaving Celtic set to contemplate just their fourth match of the campaign where they have failed to secure the three points.

With a draw on the cards, Zdrilic popped up in injury time to give Aberdeen an unlikely victory with the last kick of the game.
