New worry for Govou

Sidney Govou has picked up an injury in his first training session that could keep him out of Lyon's match against Rennes.

Govou has been out for three weeks with a thigh problem but returned to training before pulling up again with a recurrence of the complaint.

The Lyon ace is still hopeful of getting back in the side - as he looks to claim a place in France's Euro 2004 squad.

"It all started with a serious ankle injury in July," the 25-year-old told L'Equipe.

"I have also had some muscular strains so I don't want to rush back but I want to finish the season strongly.

"Considering how I have played this season it would be stupid to take risks. I will see how I feel on Saturday.

"Djibril Cisse is still banned from the France side for four games but that doesn't change anything for me.

"I know that, to be called up for the Euros, I must be outstanding for the end of the season.

"It is up to me to convince the selector that I am back to full fitness."
