Peruzzi agrees Lazio deal

Lazio keeper Angelo Peruzzi has confirmed he will be staying with the Biancoceleste next season after agreeing a deal with the club.

Peruzzi had been set to depart in the summer as his contract expired in June, however a deal is now in place for him to continue his career at Stadio Olimpico.

"We've reached a general agreement with the club to continue my adventure at Lazio," said Peruzzi to the club's official website.

"I'm not that old that I need to leave football. Let's see how things go for the club, but my desire is to stay here."

Lazio secured a draw in their midweek clash against Roma in the Rome derby, and Peruzzi was pleased his side gained a point.

Roberto Mancini's outfit travel to Internazionale at the weekend and the shot-stopper believes a good result on Sunday can help them cement fourth place.

"I think the derby point was good. We moved level with Parma and Inter are a point ahead," he added.

"If we would be able to get a result in San Siro we can achieve the fourth place, but we must win our next three matches too."
