Hangeland flattered by interest

Viking defender Brede Hangeland has revealed he was flattered that Liverpool and Utrecht were both running the rule over him at the weekend.

The young stopper kept a clean sheet in their goalless draw away to Rosenborg, and was reportedly under the watchful gaze of the Premiership and Eredivisie outfits.

"I didn't know there were interested clubs in the stands, but I'm flattered that there were clubs here looking at me," Hangeland told VG.

Hangeland has spent some time on the sidelines due to injury, with back and hernia problems, and he is still some way off full fitness.

"I'm still improving, but I'm not yet going all out on the pitch," he added. "I must avoid the bad challenges as I can't move as free as normal."

Meanwhile, striker Mads Timm, who is on loan from Manchester United, featured against Rosenborg and revealed his delight at a long run-out.

"I can't remember the last time I was so tired after a football game, but God it feels good," said Timm to Rogalands Avis.

"This was a big chance for me. I'm an individualist that likes to have the ball at my feet. Football is a team game."
