Feyenoord looking at defenders

Feyenoord are scouring the market for a defender, with reports suggesting Abdoulaye Meite is the subject of their scouting trips.

A Feyenoord delegation took in Marseille's recent defeat by Paris Saint Germain, with Meite said to be the player attracting the attention of the coaching team of Ruud Gullit and Mark Wotte.

Meite's current deal is due to expire in the summer and his free transfer status is certainly an attractive prospect for Feyenoord.

Gullit has other options, with PSG defender Frederic Dehu said to have caught his eye in the same game.

Empoli's Brazilian defender Sanchez Cribari is also thought to be on Gullit's wish list, with the former Dutch international set to assess his options before lodging bids in the summer.
