Larsson return causes shockwaves
Sweden's prime minister Goran Persson led the praise of the Celtic star's return.
"Thanks Henke!" said the politician. "Everyone who is going to follow the European Championship is already looking forward to watching you score, your great passing and strong teamwork.
"But football is a team sport so enjoy the praise but do not feel the pressure."
Sweden joint coach Tommy Soderberg believes that Larsson's U-turn has given the nation the impetus to succeed in Euro 2004.
"It is a terrific gift to the Swedish people from Henrik and the Larsson family," said Soderberg.
"Sportwise, it will boost many other players and they will be more confident.
"We hoped he would change his mind but he called us yesterday to confirm it."
Larsson himself insisted that his change of heart with the national side would not precipitate a change of mind about leaving Celtic.
"I will leave Celtic at the end of the season," said Larsson. "There have been some enquiries but nothing more.
"Spain would be wonderful but if nothing happens I won't close the door to the alternatives."
Celtic are already planning to give Larsson a send off game - with Sevilla lined up as potential opponents for a testimonial type finale to his time with the Scottish giants.
