Giuly the jewel for Monaco

Monaco kept up their title challenge by coming from behind to earn a 2-1 victory at Nice.

The UEFA Champions League semi-finalists overcame conceding an early goal to roar back before the break through Dado Prso and the inspirational Ludovic Giuly.

Nice took the lead on ten minutes after the Monaco defence failed to clear Philippe Leonard's cross, enabling Cedric Varrault to finish inside the post.

Monaco signalled their intent to claw their way back into the match when Hugo Ibarra's thunderous strike forced Nice goalkeeper Damien Gregorini to punch the ball away.

Just past the half hour mark, the visitors did draw level after a slick move resulted in Eduoard Cisse laying the ball off to Prso for the Croatian international to equalise.

Before the break, Monaco had nicked the winner after Ibarra's pass was superbly struck home by the outside of Giuly's foot.

After the interval, Nice threatened sporadically but Monaco held on to leapfrog Paris Saint Germain into second place.
