Stam set for Milan move
Stam has been linked with a move to Milan for some time after turning down a new deal at Lazio earlier this year.
Cash-strapped Lazio resisted offers to sell the towering Dutch defender during January's transfer window, but are resigned to losing him in the summer.
Milan are keen to bolster their defence with Paolo Maldini coming to the end of his career and Stam will link-up with former Lazio team-mate Alessandro Nesta at Giuseppe Meazza.
Stam's representative Henk van Ginkel revealed that a deal had been agreed between Milan and Lazio for the former Manchester United star.
"At the end of this campaign Stam will leave Lazio. Next year he'll be playing for Milan," van Ginkel told Calciomercato.com.
"We have drawn up an agreement for a two-year contract and only started talks with Milan after the two clubs had reached their own understanding."
Lazio president Ugo Longo admitted Stam was likely to leave after being on the transfer list for some time
"Stam is on market everyone knows this," said Longo.
"Unfortunately is a sacrifice we must do and we have know it for a long time, considering also the expense of his signing. But I confirm nothing, it's not my job",
Stam is believed to have agreed a two-year deal with the newly crowned Serie A champions after which he will return to Holland.
Meanwhile, Lazio are attracting interest from potential investors as the club looks to solve their financial problems.
"Let's wait before saying there won't be a big shareholder. I know there is interest around Lazio", said club chief officer Giuseppe Masoni.
"But at the moment they haven't received official offers and the future appears still doubtful. "
