Postma pens Villa extension

Aston Villa reserve goalkeeper Stefan Postma has penned a two-year extension to his contract at Villa Park.

The Dutch shot-stopper is happy to stay despite playing second fiddle to Thomas Sorensen all season.

Sorensen has firmly established himself as number one keeper at Villa since arriving from Sunderland last season, limiting Postma to just two substitute appearances this campaign.

The 27-year-old Postma was delighted to resolve his future as he is happy to stay at Villa despite his lack of action.

"I'm absolutely delighted to get this sorted. I know I'll be here for another two years and that's terrific," Postma told the club website.

"I haven't played that many games, but when you know you're at a club where things are done properly, and where we are undoubtedly on the way up, you want to be part of it. Why would I want to move?

"I'm very happy here at the club. I'm settled. I have a great life and I love the area. Everything is positive.

"Thomas Sorensen has been outstanding this season and I have no complaints. I'll wait for my chance."
