Anigo lavishes praise on Drogba
Drogba produced a one-man demolition job on Thursday to send Newcastle crashing out of the Uefa Cup and book Marseille's place in the final in Gothenburg on May 19.
The Ivory Coast star scored both goals and was omnipresent throughout as Newcastle found it virtually impossible to combat his power, pace and skill.
Drogba has been in top form all season, which resulted in him making off with the French Player of the Year award, and Anigo believes he is among Europe's best.
"Didier's performance showed he deserves the Player of the Year award and I would say he is one of the best footballers in Europe at the moment," said Anigo.
Anigo has had a difficult time since succeeding Alain Perrin at the helm of Marseille.
The Mediterranean side are currently seventh in Le Championnat, well off the pace set by Lyon, but Anigo feels he is steadily finding his feet at the club.
"When I started to coach Marseille the suit was too big for me but I think it now fits me," he said. "Without the players you are strictly nothing and so they have put me in the limelight."
Anigo is looking forward to locking horns with Valencia coach Rafa Benitez in the final.
"Now that we are in the final we are only interested in winning it," he stated. "It's going to be hard but definitely possible since we have not lost any of our last eight games in the competition."
