Adams proud after victory

Leicester manager Micky Adams was proud of his team as they signed off at The Walkers Stadium with victory, but conceded it could prove a final hurrah for key players.

Adams was delighted with a 3-1 victory against Portsmouth, but with relegation already assured, it was a bitter-sweet victory.

"It's nice to win a game here when we've lost out Premiership status because of home form," said Adams.

"Today (Saturday) we were nice and relaxed and there was no real pressure on us to win.

"I've got to give credit to my players because it could have been a demoralising thing that happened to them last week but they came back and looked fantastic."

Muzzy Izzet is a player likely to depart the club, with his contract expiring in the summer, and Adams admitted the Turkey international will be missed.

"Muzzy looked terrific and we are going to miss him," said Adams. "He came off towards the end with a hamstring injury and he deserved the standing ovation that he got.

"Muzzy goes with our best wishes and everybody knows that."
