Inzaghi fighting to be fit

Milan boss Carlo Ancelotti says that striker Filippo Inzaghi is still desperately trying to be fit for Italy's squad for Euro 2004.

Inzaghi had surgery on his troublesome ankle problem two weeks ago and is now trying everything to get back fit enough to make Giovanni Trapattoni's final squad.

Ancelotti hopes that his striker can be fit enough to play for Italy in the Euro 2004 finals in Portugal this summer, and says that it will not be for the lack of trying.

"It's a matter of time," Ancelotti underlined. "Inzaghi is working a lot.

"He's doing everything to go to Portugal and it's right he tries.

"It's not easy recovering for May 24th (when Italy begin their training camp), but he wants to play with Azzurri and its normal he is giving his best to achieve it.

"Then Trapattoni will make his evaluations."
