Wenger wants record

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is desperate for his side to make history and go through the season unbeaten, while admitting Martin Keown will move on in the summer.

The Gunners are just 90 minutes away from finishing the campaign without a loss, needing to just avoid defeat by relegated Leicester to claim their place in history.

Despite crashing out of the UEFA Champions League and the FA Cup, Wenger has always said that their Premiership form was a true measure of their greatness.

"The most important thing is to keep the unbeaten run going as it would reflect how great this team has been this season," he declared.

"In recent games, it has been enough not to lose, but now we want to do enough to win. I would love this game to reflect the quality of the football we've displayed over the season.

"People often ask whether you are pretty or efficient, like you have to choose. What makes me happy is that everyone acknowledges they have enjoyed watching us, but we have also won.

"You can do both. What is dangerous for football is for people to believe you have to play boring football to win. Manchester United did that for years as well.

"These players want to win every training game. In the last three seasons, we've played two of those seasons unbeaten away from home and that is a remarkable achievement.

"That shows the guys have a fantastic attitude."

Wenger confirmed that veteran defender Martin Keown will be playing his last game for The Gunners at Highbury on Saturday.

The 37-year-old has played for 13 years at Arsenal in total but will not be handed a new deal in the summer.

"I think Martin is finished here at Arsenal as a player, but if he wants to go on and play somewhere else he can and that's what I think he will do.

"I would be prepared to offer him a coaching role in the future, but I feel he still has two years to offer someone somewhere.

"I am happy to speak highly about Martin, though. He went out and did extra training yesterday, even though he knows he will only be a sub (on Saturday) and that tells you everything about him."
