Rui Costa rules out Chelsea move

Milan midfielder Manuel Rui Costa has rejected the possibility of joining Chelsea, insisting that if he was to leave The Rossoneri he would only consider a switch to former clubs Benfica and Fiorentina.

The Portuguese ace has been linked with a shock move to Chelsea, but Rui Costa insists he has no interest in a move away from Milan.

The skilful playmaker has been linked with a move away from Milan for some time after losing his place in the side, but Rui Costa insists he is happy to stay until told otherwise.

"My future at Milan? Yes, because I have never asked to leave," said Rui Costa. "And it seems to me the club have never showed the intention to sell me.

"I'm still fascinated by the plan of this club, that is the most important in the world.

"As for myself I haven't problems."

Rui Costa revealed he is flattered to be linked with a return to Benfica

"I can only say that at this moment, in addition to Milan I have only two other clubs in my mind - Benfica and Fiorentina.

"When I end my adventure with Rossoneri, I hope to have the possibility to come back to play in Lisbon or Florence.

'In Lisbon they think I'll be back soon. I know it and I'm flattered. But I have another two years' contract with Milan and the possible decision to leave isn't only up to me.

"I still have faith in Milan and I'll have it until they have faith in me.

"I'm fascinated with the scudetto and Champions League. This year we went really close to obtaining it."

The 31-year-old admitted he is looking at getting into management when he finally quits playing and that it has been hard to keep going when he has been left on the bench.

"It is not easy accepting the bench. I still try to feel alive, I want to be trying also when things don't go well," added Rui Costa.

"Once I end my career it's not a secret I'd like to start coaching.

"Also for this reason my future professional choices will be really key and important."
