Ex-Dragons talking to Darlo

Crisis club Darlington have held talks with former Wrexham midfielders Stephen Thomas and Paul Barrett about a possible move to The Reynolds Arena.

The pair are looking for pastures new after being two of six players to be released last week by Dragons boss Denis Smith.

The duo hail from the North East and seem interested in joining David Hodgson's side next term, but The Quakers cannot sign any new players until the club's financial plight is sorted out.

"We've had talks with them both and the talks went well but we can't put pen-to-paper until the financial situation is resolved," said Darlo assistant manager Martin Gray.

"Hopefully, we can then start to act and players currently at the club can also sign deals."
