Marseille to bag Bamogo

Marseille are closing in on the signature of Montpellier's Habib Bamogo after agreeing a deal for the striker.

The 22-year-old has scored 16 goals for Montpellier this season and is one of the brightest talents in Ligue 1.

Nantes and Lyon have been chasing the French Under-21 international, but it appears that Marseille are firm favourites to land him after agreeing a price with relegated Montpellier.

Laurent Nicollin, son of the Montpellier chairman, admitted a deal was agreed with just the player to settle on personal terms.

"We have agreed in principle with Marseille. The player only has to find a definitive agreement with l'OM," said Nicollin.

The move is not set to be finalised for a while yet as Bamogo is away on holiday in Africa with the deal set to be tied up upon his return.
