Chester land Telford keeper

Conference champions Chester City have signed goalkeeper Chris MacKenzie from Telford United.

The 32-year-old moves to the Deva Stadium after having his contract cancelled by the cash-strapped Bucks, as Telford try and reduce their wage bill during their current financial crisis.

The arrival of MacKenzie should provide competition to number one Wayne Brown next season, as Mark Wright's side returns to The Football League next term.

MacKenzie has played for a number of clubs in The Conference and has League experience with Leyton Orient back in 1998.

Chester have also announced that former Macclesfield Town boss David Moss will become Wright's assistant at The Deva Stadium next season.
