Vahid reflects on PSG transfers

PSG coach Vahid Halilhodzic says he understands why Fredric Dehu is leaving the club, but is more surprised Benoit Pedretti rejected a move to the Parc des Princes.

The Bosnian rejects claims the club did not offer Dehu a lucrative deal, but admits that Marseille were able to piece together a move attractive proposition.

"Frederic Dehu said PSG didn't respect him," said Halilhodzic told L'Equipe.

"We offered him a two-year extension, plus another year in case of Champions League qualification and a six-figure wage.

"We spoke with his agent but never heard an answer. We've known for a while he had an agreement with Marseille. L'OM probably made him a better offer.

"Fred made a choice, he has accept it. He was the first to say it's over in Paris. However what the fans did on Saturday is a shame."

Halilhodzic was keen to bring Sochaux's Benoit Pedretti to PSG, however the France international opted to make the move to Marseille.

"I can understand Dehu, he is reaching the end of his career. I am more surprised by Benoit Pedretti's choice," he added.

"I saw him, he seemed happy to come and play Champions League with us, and then he stated he will join l'OM."

PSG are being linked with Sylvain Armand from Nantes while club colleague Mario Yepes is also being touted as a possible replacement for Juan Pablo Sorin.

The Parisian outfit are believed to have made a ‚é¼4.5 million offer for Armand with a four-year deal waiting for the player, although Yepes's ‚é¼9 million asking price is unattractive.

"Next year, Juan Pablo Sorin will play 13 matches with Argentina, so he will be with them for four months. I don't know yet if he will stay," he added.

"Like Sorin, Mario Yepes will play often with Columbia. If we sign him, we'll have a player to replace him. Sorin has not left yet.

"Jose Pierre-Fanfan should stay and Eric Cubilier will leave. If an enormous offer came, everyone is available, even Vahid."
