Baggies seal Dane deal

Premiership new boys West Brom have completed the signing of Danish international Martin Albrechtsen in a club record deal.

The 24-year-old defender has signed from FC Copenhagen in a £2.7 million deal to make him West Brom's most expensive ever signing.

Albrechtsen has signed a three-year deal at The Hawthorns with the option of another year and Baggies boss Gary Megson was delighted to sign him after trailing him for some time.

"I'm delighted Martin has agreed to sign for us," Megson told the club's official website.

"We've been chasing him for a couple of seasons now.

"When we enquired about him the first time, the price we were quoted was astronomical but it has now come down to more manageable proportions."

The Danish ace is West Brom's second signing of the summer as they prepare for life back in the top flight following the arrival of Riccardo Scimeca from Leicester City last month.
