De Graafschap back in top-flight

De Graafschap have won promotion back to the Dutch Eredivisie with a 3-2 win over Excelsior in the final promotion/relegation play-off on Thursday.

Michael van der Kruis's last minute goal was enough to give De Graafschap the win to see them finish top of Group B with 13 points.

Mounir El Hamdaoui gave Excelsior the lead on 20 minutes, but Ilja van Leerdam drew De Graafschap level right on the stroke of half time.

Van Leerdam netted his second four minutes after the break to give De Graafschap the lead before Rene van Dieren replied for Excelsior on 67 minutes.

The game looked to end all-square until van der Kruis's last-gasp goal, which earned De  Graafschap promotion straight back into Eredivisie after one season out of Holland's top-flight.

Goals from Karim Bridji (61) and Cerezo Fung A Wing (68) put Volendam in control, but Heracles pulled a goal back almost immediately through Wiel Trustfull.

Ywi Rose earned Heracels a share of the spoils with an equaliser ten minutes from time.
