Utrecht sign Di Tommaso

Utrecht are looking for a replacement for experienced defender Patrick Zwaanswijk, and have plumped for di Tommaso.

Zwaanswijk has not renewed his contract with Utrecht, citing the need for a fresh challenge.

Although the veteran has yet to find a new club, there are believed to be several suitors for the respected defender.

Di Tommaso was available for nothing after his contract with Championnat club Sedan expired at the end of last season.

Utrecht coach coach Foeke Booy was pleased to land the defender.

"He is a real personality," Booy told Voetbal International. "He is good in the air and has pace. He also has great ability with his left foot."
