Gerrard waiting for new boss
Bookies' favourite Rafael Benitez is said to be on his way to Anfield after leaving Spanish champions Valencia this week.
Despite that reportedly being a done deal, Gerrard says that he does not know if any move has been sealed as yet.
Reds chief executive Rick Parry indicated that senior players such as Gerrard and Michael Owen may be involved in the process of appointing a new boss, but the England midfielder knows nothing as yet.
Liverpool say that an announcement will be made once Parry gets back from holiday, and Gerrard says that he is as interested as everyone else to see who will take charge.
"It is interesting, as you say, and I am keeping a close eye on what is happening in the news," said Gerrard.
"Rick Parry has been reported as saying they will make an announcement when he gets back from holiday.
"I am looking forward to that."
Meanwhile, Southampton have been credited with an interest in Liverpool's Czech international Vladimir Smicer.
Smicer has not really endeared himself to the Anfield faithful during his spell on Merseyside, and many believe he will be one of the first to leave once a new manager comes in.
