Injured Seedorf set for scan

Clarence Seedorf is set to undergo a scan on Sunday, as his Euro 2004 hopes hang in the balance.

The Milan midfielder came on for the second half of Holland's clash with Republic of Ireland and sparked the country into life with a number of neat passes and incisive movement.

However, he left the field on the hour and news filtered through that he had tweaked a hamstring.

Seedorf returned to the dugout for the dying moments and appeared to be moving comfortably, but Advocaat feels it is in the balance if he will make the trip to Portugal.

"Clarence felt a twinge," said Advocaat. "Tomorrow, he will be taken for a scan to ascertain the damage.

"If he has done any major damage to the hamstring, then his chances are slim."

If Seedorf is ruled out, Advocaat can seek special dispensation to draft in a new face as the tournament has not yet started.

Seedorf's 15-minute cameo was one of the few positives from the defeat in Amsterdam and his absence will be a huge blow to Advocaat.
