Veron unveiled at Inter

Juan Sebastian Veron has been officially unveiled at Internazionale after his arrival on a one-year loan switch from Chelsea.

The Argentinian international has returned to Italy in the hope of regaining his form after failing to set the world alight at Stamford Bridge.

The former Manchester United man said that he has nothing to prove to anyone in England, and was just concentrating on performing well for Inter.

"I have nothing to prove to England," said Veron.

"I must show my value to those who have had faith in me and decided to bring me to the city of Milan."

Veron admitted that Inter have been interested in him a number of times before, but the time was never right for a move.

"They have been interested in me many times, and many times I have been interested in playing in the Nerazzurri's jersey.

"Probably there has never been the right moment until now, but now the right moment has arrived. Thanks to president [Giacinto] Facchetti, to Marco Branca and Lele Oriali, and thanks also to Chelsea's officials who have made the negotiations easier.

"I've spoken with Massimo Moratti and I've immediately understood his love for Inter, his will to do good things for the club, for the team and for the supporters.

"I had been close to Inter before my transfer to England. But in that case it wasn't the club's choice, but mine. After what happened with the passport case I wanted to leave Italy."

Questioned about his feelings about the free loan that Chelsea have allowed him to leave on, he added: "It didn't make an impression on me when Manchester paid £28 million for me, and it doesn't make an impression on me now arriving on loan.

"I don't see the sum, I see the pitch. All that matters is what I'll be able to do on the pitch."

Despite doubts surrounding the future of Inter boss Alberto Zaccheroni, Veron says that he is looking forward to working with the current coach.

"I'm here not for a coach, but for officials who believed in me.

"Anyway I hope to work with Zaccheroni who is currently Inter's coach."
