Schroth set for Nurnberg

Newly-promoted Bundesliga outfit Nurnberg are reportedly on the verge of signing 1860 Munich striker Markus Schroth.

Nurnberg's sport director Martin Bader has said that the club have agreed a two-year deal with the 29-year-old.

The marksman simply needs to put pen to paper on the contract before completing his move from the relegated Olympiastadion outfit.

Schroth, who has scored a total of 45 goals in 217 Bundesliga appearances for Karlsruhe and 1860, would arrive at the Frankenstadion on a free transfer.

Meanwhile, Bader rejected reports that Nurnberg are targeting Wolfsburg's Croatian international striker Tomislav Maric.

"There is no truth in the newspaper reports," Bader concluded.
