Tugay agrees Rovers deal

Tugay Kerimoglou has ended speculation surrounding his future by agreeing on a one-year extension at Premiership side Blackburn Rovers.

The experienced Turkish midfielder has been linked with a move to Galatasaray as he was out of contract, but he is now set to stay at Ewood Park.

Tugay is the main man in the middle of the pitch for manager Graeme Souness's side, having been a virtual ever-present for Rovers last term.

Gala were hopeful of bring the 33-year-old back to Turkey, however will should now stay in England for another 12 months.

"Tugay has proved to be a terrific signing since he first joined us three years ago," chief executive John Williams told the club's official website.

"We are all delighted that he has agreed to re-sign."

Tugay, who played for Galatasaray before moving to the SPL giants Rangers, has been with Blackburn since the summer of 2001 following a £1.3 million move from the Ibrox club.
