Rudi hints at Bastian start

Germany coach Rudi Voller has hinted youngster Bastian Schweinsteiger could make his first start against Czech Republic.

The Bayern Munich teenager, who has three caps to his name, has so far only been used off the bench but on each occasion has impressed.

Midfielder Dietmar Hamann and Bernd Schneider were doubts to face the Czechs although both have returned to training.

Following a creditable draw with Holland, Voller's men faltered against Latvia and the coach is now weighing up his options as the team look to advance in Portugal.

"If he can train normally this (Tuesday) afternoon, that is a possibility," said Voller on Schweinsteiger making his full debut.

A point could see Germany advance to the quarter finals of Euro 2004, however Voller will be ordering his charges to go for the victory in Lisbon.
