Dick admits Robben error
The Dutch were in command of their Group D game with the Czechs when Advocaat removed flying winger Robben from the fray and replaced him with defensive midfielder Paul Bosvelt.
The decision baffled many of the Dutch players, Robben included, and the Czechs seized their chance and claimed a late victory over Holland.
Advocaat initially defended his decision in the face of strong criticism from the media, but the former Rangers coach has now shifted tack.
He feels the choice of throwing on Manchester City man Bosvelt was correct, but claims he should have removed Andy van der Meyde - comments which are unlikely to please the Internazionale man.
"The substitution was a mistake," he said. "I still think it was the right decision to take off a midfielder - but I should have taken off van der Meyde."
Advocaat claims he still has the support of the squad, but knows he could be out of a job if they bow out of Euro 2004 on Wednesday.
"I still think there is co-operation between me and my players," he said.
"We'll see what happens," he said of the vital games on Wednesday. "The Latvia game could be my last of course.
"That's possible - but it's also possible that I'll continue. I still enjoy working with my players."
Holland need to win against Latvia and hope the already qualified Czech Republic do not lose against Germany if they are to reach the knockout stages.
