PSV eye Beasley after Farfan swoop

PSV Eindhoven have completed the signing of Peruvian starlet Jefferson Farfan and are now looking to seal a deal for American winger DaMarcus Beasley.

Farfan has penned a four-year deal at the Philips Stadion after a deal was agreed with his club Alianza Lima.

The 19-year-old was delighted to be following in the footsteps of other famous South Americans who have plied their trade at PSV.

"Many young South American players came before me, think about Romario and Ronaldo," said Farfan.

"I see PSV as a good stage, this league is really good for young attackers like me.

"I know the club followed me for a long time.

"In my eyes this is a top team with a fantastic organisation."

PSV confirmed that unlike the deal which brought Alex to the club, they had not concluded a joint deal with Chelsea - although The Blues were also keen on Farfan.

The Dutch giants have now turned their attention to Beasley - who is seen as the perfect replacement for Chelsea-bound Arjen Robben.

Premiership Southampton failed with a bid earlier this month, but PSV hope to agree a fee with Major League Soccer.

PSV are also in talks with Real Mallorca about selling their Swiss international Johann Vogel.
