No Viking move for Che

Che Wilson was this week being linked to Norwegian side Viking in the Norwegian Press, but he was only visiting his friend Erik Fuglestad following their time in Norwich.

Viking could yet look to England for new acquisitions but Wilson is not one of their targets.

"Che is only a friend of mine," Fuglestad told Rogalands Avis. "He was only visiting me. He will travel home and is likely to sign a new deal with Southend."

Agent Einar Baardsen is working for the club along with former England international Trevor Steven.

"English players could be a smart solution," Baardsen told Stavanger Aftenblad.

"It's not a major cultural difference. Meanwhile, we have a new English manager (Roy Hodgson) and we are currently in talks with two English players - one from The Premiership and one from the First Division.

"These are exciting players not far away from the first team."
