Harry plays down Karel raid

Portsmouth manager Harry Redknapp has stated the club will not make a move for Karel Poborsky as they already have Steve Stone on the right wing.

The South Coast club have been linked with a move for the former Manchester United winger, but it appears a move to Fratton Park is not on the cards.

As the experienced Czech Republic star was available for nothing it was believed Pompey were planning a raid, however strengthening their attacking right side is not a priority.

"I was linked with Karel Poborsky, who used to be at Manchester United. That was because someone said he was on a free transfer and that has a big appeal for us," Redknapp told The Times.

"But I've got Steve Stone on the right and he goes a good job, so although I need to bring four or five players in, that's not a big priority."

Redknapp confirmed that Greece star Traianos Dellas was a player he admired before Euro 2004, however his price has inflated following a string of fine displays in Portugal.

"Traianos Dellas, the Greece centre half, was available on a season-long loan for nothing before the tournament, but now Roma are asking £2.5 million for him," he added.
