Inter snap up Greek forward

Choutos has declined a fresh deal with Olympiakos and has penned a three-year contract with the Italian giants instead.

The 24-year-old is perceived as a somewhat surprise acquisition by the Nerazzurri but is not expected to remain at Giuseppe Meazza for long.

He is tipped to be used as a makeweight in one of the bigger deals Inter are attempting to conclude over the summer.

Premiership duo Birmingham City and Bolton Wanderers have previously been linked with the forward, along with Portuguese titans Benfica.

Choutos, who did not make Greece's successful Euro 2004 squad, has also been mooted as a bargaining chip in Inter's bid to sign Anderlecht's highly-rated defender Vincent Kompany.

The attacker has played in Serie A before with Roma but it appears unlikely he will be handed a serious opportunity to prove he can perform in Italy.

Meanwhile, as part of Inter's recruitment of Roberto Mancini as their new coach, Lazio have been offered four Nerazzurri players.

Daniele Adani, Mohammed Kallon, Alessandro Potenza and Nicola Beati have been granted permission to move to Stadio Olimpico, according to Inter president Giacinto Facchetti.

He said: "The agreement with Lazio foresees that Adani, Kallon, Potenza and Beati could decide to be loaned to the Biancocelesti."

The final decision, though, appears to rest with the players, who are mulling over their futures.
