Brammer makes Potters switch

Stoke City have followed the capture of goalkeeper Steve Simonsen by signing midfielder Dave Brammer from Crewe Alexandra.

The 29-year-old has signed a two-year deal with the Britannia Stadium club after passing a medical with his new side on Friday.

Potters director of football John Rudge was pleased to add Brammer to their Championship squad for the coming season.

"We're delighted to have attracted a player like Dave to the club and he is a great addition to our growing squad," Rudge told the club's official website.

"He is a tremendous asset to this football club and we're glad he has signed for us."

Crewe, meanwhile, have extended the contracts of youngsters Kenny Lunt and Billy Jones at Gresty Road.

Midfielder Lunt has signed an extension to his current contract which will keep him at the Cheshire-based outfit until 2006.

Jones, 17, has signed a three-year contract with The Railwaymen after breaking into Dario Gradi's first team last season.
