Brammer: I didn't move for money
The experienced midfielder rejected a new contract at Gresty Road to sign a two-year deal with The Potters.
He shunned a 12-month extension with The Railwaymen to sign for Stoke but his switch has been soured by claims he opted for The Britannia Stadium because of finances.
Brammer, though, has refuted the suggestions and has revealed he has accepted a lower salary to join Stoke.
Instead, it was the security of a two-year deal and the club's ambition which swayed him in to relinquishing the captain's armband at Crewe to link up with Tony Pulis at Stoke.
"I was disappointed to leave Crewe but I was offered a year with less money," said Brammer.
"But it wasn't the money why I have signed for Stoke, I have taken less money to sign for Stoke.
"It was the security of a two-year contract. It was the first time I have been out of contract in my career and I didn't enjoy it. That is why I went for the two years added to the size of the club and the potential.
"It is a big club and Stoke offered me a two-year contract.
"I spoke to the manager and he was really keen for me to come, that was a big factor in why I came. When someone is really interested in you that is why you come."
