Leeds linked to Byrne swoop
Championship outfit Leeds United are reportedly ready to offer a trial to St Patrick's Athletic left-back Des Byrne.
Byrne has experience of English football after previous spells with Stockport County, Wimbledon, Cambridge United and Carlisle United and is thought to be interested in a move back to England.
Ian Harte's departure from Elland Road in the past week does lend support to the story but a St Patrick's spokesman has told skysports.com that no official approach has been made.
''There has been talk in the papers over here,'' a spokesman told skysports.com.
''But we've had no approach and it is just rumours at the moment.''
The 23-year-old is currently suffering with a hamstring strain and for the time being is concentrating on helping John McDonnell's side climb the Eircom League's top-flight.
