Burnley trial trio
The new Clarets boss has a number of irons in the fire regarding new players - with goalkeeper Danny Coyne expected to tie up a move to the club in the next couple of days.
Dave Walton, Cyril Eboki-Poh and Lionel Djebi Zadi are all training with the club - but Cotterill has already warned Burnley fans that he is looking for quality and not quantity ahead of his first campaign at the helm of the East Lancashire side.
31-year-old Walton rose to prominence with Shrewsbury Town and Crewe, but a move to Derby last year saw misfortune arise - with a knee injury curtailing his time with The Rams.
"Dave has joined us for a few days and we will see what the score is," the manager told the Lancashire Evening Telegraph.
"He will play against Dundee and then we'll take things from there."
The experienced defender will be looking to impress Cotterill along with French pairing Eboki-Poh and Djebi-Zadi.
Eboki-Poh is the more experienced of the two, having played for Bastia and Cannes as well as Dutch club Sora.
The 24-year-old forward was linked with Wolves four-years ago, after impressing manager Colin Lee - but a move failed to materialise.
Ivory Cost-born Djebi Zadi came through the lower leagues in France, and has played in the Swiss League with FC Lucerne.
