Tiago passes Chelsea medical
The Benfica midfielder should complete his move to The Blues before the Premiership giants fly out to the United States for their pre-season tour on Wednesday.
The 23-year-old, who was in Portugal's Euro 2004 squad but failed to make an appearance in the finals, will now look to put the finishing touches on his move to Stamford Bridge.
The former Braga man will join fellow countrymen in manager Jose Mourinho and defender Paulo Ferreira at Chelsea, as owner Roman Abramovich continues to add to his star-studded team for the new campaign.
Tiago will be joined in West London this week by Ivory Coast international striker Didier Drogba after French club Marseille agreed a fee with Chelsea for the former Guingamp player.
