Zola makes Cagliari exit
Gianfranco Zola has departed newly-promoted Serie A club Cagliari after just one season.
The former Chelsea star's contract expired this summer, but it had been hoped the parties could agree on a new deal.
However, following lengthy negotiations Zola's agent Flavio Marrucco has revealed an agreement has failed to come to fruition.
"Conditions to continue were not right," explained Marrucco.
"What he will do now? For the moment he will have a break."
Zola played a big part in the team gaining promotion to the top-flight, while some fans had hoped the veteran forward might one day manage the side.
