Gunners starlet eyes Serie A

Arsenal youngster Olufar-Ingi Skulason has denied that he has already signed for Beveren, claiming three Italian clubs want his signature.

The highly-rated 21-year-old has just signed a new deal at Highbury, but manager Arsene Wenger was him to gain first team experience.

Beveren stated on their website that Skulason would be joining them for the forthcoming season, possibly filling the void left by Igor Stepanoves - who spent last season on loan in Belgium.

However, Skulason - who can play anywhere in midfield or defence - insists he could yet move to Serie A.

"Brescia and Torino have also sent in enquires to Arsenal about me and also Bologna has shown interest so there are many things happening," the youngster told Morgunblaoio.

"I don´t deny it would be more exciting to play in Italy but if that does not work out then I guess I will go to Beveren."

Skulason is also thinking about his future and realises that a good season in Italy could earn him a permanent deal.
