Hatters swoop for Slovenian keeper

Luton Town have bolstered their goalkeeping options ahead of the new season after signing Slovenian Dino Seremet on a two-year deal.

Manager Mike Newell (pictured) only brought in the shot-stopper this week on trial but has been quickly impressed by the 23-year-old, who has joined on a free transfer.

The 23-year-old, who joined from Slovenian outfit NK Maribor, played two 45-minute spells for The Hatters during the trial.

"He impressed us in training and he impressed us in the games at Hitchin and Rugby," commented Newell to the club's official website.

"He wants to impress here and wants to make a career out of it in England. He is very strong-minded, he's a big lad with a big frame and he is quite confident.

"We want competition for places and we wouldn't bring people in, especially in that position, who we don't think will be able to compete.

"Hopefully he will go on to be a good goalkeeper."
