Nouma handed Town trial

Ipswich Town have confirmed that they have taken French striker Pascal Nouma on trial.

The 32-year-old has been playing in Qatar after leaving Turkish giants Besiktas in 2003.

Nouma has a vast amount of experience after plying his trade for a host of clubs in Le Championnat including Paris Saint Germain, Lille, Lens and Strasbourg.

Ipswich boss Joe Royle has now give Nouma a chance earn a contract at Portman Road.

"We have taken Pascal on trial for the week and we are hoping to get clearance for him to play against Osasuna [on Monday]," Royle told the club's website.

"He's a big lad who impressed when he played against Arsenal a few years ago so we will see how he gets on."
