Ze Maria confirms Inter move
Perugia had been desperate to keep the experienced Ze Maria following their relegation from the top flight.
But, with Ze Maria's contract expiring next summer, they were always fighting a losing battle and have accepted an offer believed to be worth é¼1.8 million from Inter.
Ze Maria has penned a two-year contract with the Nerazzurri and will add further depth to Inter's squad for the new season.
He had also been linked to city rivals Milan but the South American is relishing playing for Inter next term.
"This transfer is the realisation of a dream," Ze Maria told Gazzetta dello Sport.
"I strongly wanted to join Inter and I've said this. I've never given up hoping. Now, I only want to repay their faith.
"Europe is one of the big aims for the season. I played in a European tournament with Parma in 1998.
"My position? I'm at my coach and team-mates' complete disposal."
Ze Maria had spent over five years with Perugia after signing from Parma but he is now back in the big league with Inter.
