Shrewsbury Town manager Jimmy Quinn has brought back defender Dave Walton to the Gay Meadow club for the new League Two season. The 31-year-old, who played for the Shropshire club between 1993 and 1997, has put pen-to-paper on a two-year deal with The Shrews.
His arrival comes after Championship side Derby County released the player in the summer, having previously played for Crewe Alexandra and Sheffield United.
He had a brief trial with Burnley before deciding to drop two divisions to re-join The Shrews for their return to The Football League after one season out.
"I'm pleased to be back at the club, even after I left it still had a special place in my heart, and I've got a great buzz about the move," Walton told Shrewsbury's official website.
