Arsenal eye Brescia starlet

Arsenal are believed to be interested in Brescia's up-and-coming starlet Andrea Caracciolo, but any move for the youngster would appear to be hinged on Gilberto.

Brescia are determined to pry Gilberto away from The Gunners - who seem unlikely to agree to allow the player to leave.

One of the sweeteners offered by Brescia was first option on Caracciolo - and manager Arsene Wenger is believed to rate the young striker.

Caracciolo is earning rave review in Italy, and could well spark a major bid in the next couple of years.

First option on the player would obviously be attractive to Arsenal - but with the Patrick Vieira situation currently dominant at the club - the loan or sale of Gilberto seems unlikely.
