Portsmouth defender Linvoy Primus has signed a new long-term deal.
Portsmouth defender Linvoy Primus has signed a new long-term deal, ending any hopes Norwich City had of landing him.The 30-year-old has agreed a three-year deal, despite only signing his previous agreement in April.
Pompey have moved to hand Primus his improved contract after he impressed greatly last term.
The puissant stopper was one of Norwich's top target following their promotion, but now they will have to look elsewhere for reinforcements.
"He's signed on the same sort of deal - just slightly restructured," said Pompey chief executive Peter Storrie.
"We were very keen to keep him and we did. He did very well for us last season and we hope that he does the same this season."
Meanwhile, Pompey are set to allow youngster Richard Duffy to leave on loan.
The 18-year-old moved to Fratton Park last season from Swansea, but he is unlikely to feature this season. "He needs to get out and play," said Pompey boss Harry Redknapp.
