Ronny Johnsen rejected a short term contract with Southampton.
Ronny Johnsen rejected a short term contract with Southampton, according to the player's agent.The former Manchester United and Aston Villa ace had been training with The Saints in a bid to win a move to St Mary's.
Johnsen's agent Rune Hauge has claimed the player was offered a deal at Southampton, but did not feel it was good enough.
"I spoke with the chairman at Southampton. Ronny got an offer until Christmas. Ronny has said no to that," Hauge told VG.
"It would have been interesting with a short term deal if it had other incentives.
"Ronny is very relaxed about this. He said no to several clubs before Southampton came along.
"There was interest from Germany and England."
