Rustu set for Barca exit

Rustu Recber is on the verge of a loan move to former club Fenerbahce.

Rustu Recber is on the verge of ending his Barcelona nightmare by clinching a return to Fenerbahce.

The Turkey international signed for the Catalan giants on a free transfer last summer and was then regarded as one of the top keepers in European football.

However, he was unexpectedly overlooked by Barca boss Frank Rijkaard in favour of Victor Valdes.

The youngster proved one of the revelations of the campaign at Camp Nou and has now established himself as undoubted number one.

Rustu has grown increasingly frustrated at his situation, fearing his lack of first-team action will harm his international chances.

The 31-year-old was linked with a shock move to Manchester City last week, but reports in Spain assert Fenerbahce are in pole position to land him.

He now looks set to move back to his homeland and should complete a season-long loan switch to his former club in the coming days.

Barca are happy to allow him to leave as his departure will free up another place in their squad for a non-EU player, and Barca have four, instead of the stipulated three, currently on their books.
