Souness's hopes for winger

Graeme Souness is keen to see Morten Gamst Pedersen perform in The Premiership.

Rovers finally agreed a fee with the winger's Norwegian club Tromso on Wednesday after having two previous offers rejected.

Gamst Pedersen is due in England on Thursday to discuss personal terms and undergo a medical at Ewood Park.

The Norway international is highly rated and has been courted by a string of fellow Premiership clubs.

Souness has high expectations for Gamst Pedersen and he is eager to learn if the talented wide man can cope with The Premiership.

"He is obviously a talent," Souness told VG. "We hope that he will score many goals for us.

"We finally managed to agree with Tromso.

"Pedersen has done well with his club and has also impressed with the national team.

"Now it remains to be seen whether he can take the step up to this level."
