Saddlers trial Kitamirike

Walsall look to have handed a trial to former Chelsea defender Joel Kitamirike.

The 20-year-old was released by The Blues back in June after failing to make a first team breakthrough at Stamford Bridge.

Kitamirike spent last season on loan at League One side Brentford and has been searching for a new club over the summer.

The defender recently had a trial with Dutch side Willem II, but he was unable to prove his worth to the Eredivisie club.

The player is now thought to be training with Paul Merson's Saddlers, as the Black Country outfit look to boost their ranks at The Bescot Stadium.
