Gullit signs Bordeaux defender
Feyenoord have signed Bordeaux defender Bruno Basto on a free transfer.
Feyenoord have completed the signing of Portuguese defender Bruno Basto from French club Bordeaux. The former Alverca and Benfica player joined Ruud Gullit's side on trial this week after being told he was surplus to requirements at the Ligue 1 outfit.
The 26-year-old has now signed a two-year deal - plus an option for another season - with the Rotterdam outfit after moving on a free transfer from Les Girondins.
Basto should help the Dutch giants with options in their backline, as he can play as a left back or in the centre of defence.
One player that has not been offered a contract at De Kuip is Uruguayan Mateo Andres Corbo.
The 26-year-old, who plies his trade in Paraguay with Olimpia Asuncion, also joined Feyenoord for a trial this week.
However, the South American was unable to impress Gullit and will not be receiving a deal with the club.
